Edmonton AMPLIFIED – Bird Creatives’ New Music Series
October 8, 2026 | Edmonton, Music, Events, Alberta
Live music, local artists, and community building are some of our key ingredients. Combine them all, and you’ll find some of what makes Bird Creatives truly shine.
Providing a platform for local artists and growing Alberta's local music scene has been one of our biggest goals from the start, and we’re proud to say we’ve come a long way! From producing city-wide winter festivals to community pop-up performances, we’ve developed an integrated system that combines local artists and venues into accessible performances. Over the years, using this system, we’ve had the honour of creating experiences for some of Alberta’s biggest events, giving opportunities to local artists and collaborating with venues and community leaders.
With this experience, we wanted to create an entirely new music experience. We’re incredibly excited to be launching a new initiative that showcases the best of our event management capabilities.
Introducing Edmonton AMPLIFIED
Edmonton AMPLIFIED is a citywide live music initiative with support from The City of Edmonton, the Alberta Music Commission, Explore Edmonton, Alberta Music, and West Anthem. We’re putting local artists on stages in venues, community spaces, and neighbourhoods across the city from August 2026 through January 2027, marrying music with some of Edmonton’s largest events, including the CPKC Women’s Open, Canadian Finals Rodeo, and IIHF World Junior Championship, during this time.
We created this initiative to connect artists, audiences, organizations, and creative communities through two pillars: a community series that brings low-barrier, collaborative music experiences to venues across Edmonton, and a major event series that connects live music with major sporting and cultural events to extend their impact into local venues, recreation spaces and neighbourhoods. Together, these programs celebrate Alberta's artistic talent, drive economic vitality, and deepen pride in Edmonton's bold and vibrant identity.
Events We’re Amplifying
CPKC Women's Open
CPKC Music | Performances from August 13–25, 2026
Par–Tee
We kicked off the first public Edmonton AMPLIFIED event with Par–Tee on August 14, celebrating the start of the CPKC Women’s Open Golf Tournament! We celebrated women in music and sports by providing free driving range access at the Victoria Golf Course and Driving Range, with live music performances from three women-fronted indie rock and punk bands.
Jessica Marsh, our Director of Strategic Events & Engagement - North, had the opportunity to discuss Edmonton AMPLIFIED and Par–Tee on air at CBC Radio! Have a listen.
Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR)
CFR Backroads Series | Performances from October 1–10, 2026
The CFR Backroads Series returned with another full-on citywide celebration, taking live music across multiple stages through downtown and central Edmonton. Local and regional artists brought the soul of country, Americana/Canadiana, roots, and more to local venues. We brought emerging voices and established acts to a series that fostered western culture across the city through intimate shows, lively stages and unique collaborations.
IIHF World Junior Championship
World Juniors Overtime Series | Performances from December 27, 2026 – January 5, 2027
The World Juniors Music Series is built for hockey fans, whether you’re from here in Edmonton, visiting from across the country, or around the world- we’re turning the entire tournament into a cultural experience! The series includes live music in venues, fan-focused activations, and Live at the Rinkside, a neighbourhood concert program hosted in partnership with community leagues throughout Edmonton.
Community Events
In addition to amplifying major events, we are co-hosting community-focused shows with the aim of engaging with the local community and industry leaders through music. From September 2026 to February 2027, our monthly live music series puts local artists on stage at venues across the city for consistent shows, keeping Edmonton's live music scene thriving all year long.
Purple City Music Festival
Our first community event was an Indigenous showcase co-presented by Purple City Music Festival. It featured Deerlady - ASKO - Spirit Hotel & guests on September 12 at the All Saints' Anglican Cathedral.
Studio Labs @ LGNDS

Celebrating Edmonton’s Music and Festival Scene
The heart of Edmonton AMPLIFIED is marrying the rich diversity of Edmonton’s music scene with the exciting major events that the city is hosting this year. We believe that amplifying these events with a diverse array of music will not only generate excitement but also expand Edmonton’s local music reach.
