FORT WORTH SISTER CITIES INTERNATIONAL
Our delegation was visiting Calgary on a fact-finding and educational mission. It was a first time experience for us and we did not know the people or who we could connect with to learn about the city. Sharon and Kaley were on it. They are so well-connected and seemed to understand our goals and mission. They assembled panels on economic development, tourism and arts and culture with just the right mix of people we needed to know. They even arranged the White Hat Ceremony with Tourism Calgary, making us all honorary Calgarians. It was the best surprise. Bird Creatives went above and beyond our expectations.

We worked with Bird Creatives for the first time in 2022. We hired them to project manage our 5th annual Winter Whyte Light Up event in November. Converge Mental Health Coalition
We have had a long and beneficial relationship with Bird Creatives. Among the many projects that Kaley and her team have managed for us I am most proud of RISE UP YYC and the development of a creative economy strategy for Calgary. RISE UP YYC was launched during the pandemic to keep the arts alive and present when there were restrictions on live gatherings. It resulted in safe live events throughout the city, providing experiences for the public and paid work for artists and arts workers who were most severely impacted during COVID-19. The creative economy strategy, CreativeCITY, was a collaborative project co-led by Calgary Arts Development and Calgary Economic Development and a steering committee of members from creative communities across sectors. The strategy was launched in 2021 and included a series of small pilots to support the strategic priorities.
In both instances, Bird Creatives was our lead project manager and coordinator from community engagement to logistics to programming to writing. Working with them was seamless. They captured what they heard from the community and observed appropriate EDIA practices and procedures to ensure the process was inclusive and representative of what it means to be Canada's third most diverse city.
