Soaring Higher and Flying Further: Bird Creatives brings community to Savour in Strathcona County and CCMA Country Crawl to Saskatoon

October 14, 2026 | Bird Creatives, Alberta, SaskaTchewan

The Bird Creatives team projects reached new heights this summer with events and activations in two new locations. We’re excited to see our goal of supporting the local creative economy in Alberta (and beyond) continue this year, and it’s been incredible connecting with artists from across the country.

Here’s a snapshot of our work in two new locations.

Savour in Strathcona County

Savour is Strathcona County’s annual celebration of local flavour, creativity, and community. Our team joined as Event Producers for the first time to support the planning and coordination of this year’s festival.

We worked closely with County staff, the Sherwood Park Farmers’ Market, Gallery@501, the Music Committee, and other partners to deliver a vibrant food festival and arts showcase with live music and community activations.

Together, we activated Festival Lane, the East Plaza, and the Agora to host local food vendors, a farmers market, artist installations and activations, beer, wine and cider samplings, food trucks, live music programming on the Luke Jansen Soundstage, and more!

CCMA Country Crawl in Saskatoon

This year marks our fourth time working with the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA)! 2026 marks the first time bringing our community activation series to Saskatoon to program the Annual CCMA Country Crawl.

Taking place during Country Music Week, the CCMA Country Crawl activated venue spaces across the city with dynamic performances from up-and-coming and fan-favourite country, roots, and “Americana” acts. From September 14–19, we brought free, accessible live music to the public, creating an energetic and inclusive festival atmosphere. Once again, the Bird team managed venue relations, artist logistics, and complete production execution for Country Crawl.

New Communities, New Connections

Expanding into new communities like Strathcona County and Saskatoon furthers our goals of elevating local talent, building vibrant spaces, and bringing people together through unforgettable cultural experiences. We are grateful to our partners, artists, and attendees who made these activations a success.
