Winter Whyte Light Up 2025 Sparks off the Holiday Season
December 22, 2025 | Edmonton, Alberta, Music, What's Happening
Another Winter Whyte Light Up in the books!
Old Strathcona’s signature holiday kick-off, Winter Whyte Light Up returned, November 29, in full festive force with live performances, twinkling lights, cultural experiences, local vendors, rides on the streetcar, and so much more!
We were delighted to support the Old Strathcona Business Association once again to bring Winter Whyte Light Up to life across multiple hubs, including Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park, Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market, Strathcona Library, and the Streetcar Platform.
Strathcona Library
Visitors enjoyed a button-making station and a storytime with the Grinch (Stretcher Hartout) who brought plenty of laughs and mischief.
Streetcar
Festival-goers hopped aboard the iconic Edmonton streetcar for a festive ride down Whyte Ave and through the historic tunnel!
Farmer’s Market
A warm, bustling hub filled with local vendors, live music, bannock-making, and a magical photo-op with princesses!. It was the perfect spot to shop local and recharge between outdoor activities.
Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park and area
The heart of the festival lit up with interactive installations, a giant life-sized Lite Brite, roving performers, fire pits, and plenty of space to explore, play, and embrace the holiday atmosphere.
Main Stage
This year’s festival debuted a heated inflatable tent which hosted the live music stage. This addition helped everyone stay nice and toasty while they enjoyed the incredible performances by the Winter Whyte Variety Show, a crowd favourite that delivered music, laughs, and entertainment for all ages.
This year’s Winter Whyte Light Up celebrated what the season is all about: community, creativity, warmth, and lots of winter magic. We were honoured to help bring it all together once again.
Thank you to everyone who braved the cold to join the festivities! We can’t wait to see you again next year for even more magical moments.
